NATIONAL LIBERTY MUSEUM seeks cartoons that care.
Submit your entry for our exciting 2009 Cartoon CONTEST
- Review the entry details on the reverse side
- Create an ORIGINAL Cartoon
- Mail with a completed entry form by March 31,2009

$1000.00 prize will be awarded to an adult.
$1000.00 prize will be awarded to a student.



Developed by the National Liberty Museum, Cartoons provide new direction
for an old and respected art form. We invite adults
and students to express your personal vision of caring. Our theme for 2009 is
"Dreams of Peace." All submissions should reflect this theme. 2009 Cartoon CONTEST

Entry Details for the National Liberty Museum's 2009 Cartoon CONTEST

What is a "Cartoon?:
It is an original cartoon that reflects a positive theme.
The theme for 2009 is "Dreams of Peace."

Who should enter?:
The Cartoon Contest is open to anyone interested in participating.
All ages and levels of artistic ability are invited to submit an entry (ies).
Deadline for entries: March 31, 2009. Winners only will be notified by May 1, 2009.

Judging:
Entries will be judged in two categories: Adults (age 18 or older) and Students (under age 18)
Cartoons will be judged by a panel of professional cartoonists, educators, Museum staff and others.
Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and message. All judges' decisions are final.

Prizes:
A $1000. prize will be awarded in each of the two categories.

How to create a Cartoon:
A Cartoon must be your original creation.
Cartoons featuring copyrighted or pre-designed clip art or other images are not acceptable.
You can create your Cartoon freehand or electronically.
Cartoons may be created in black & white or in color.
Cartoons must include a graphic; text is optional.
Each Cartoon must be presented on a separate 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.
Cartoons may be any size provided they fit on an 8.5 x 11 sheet.

How to enter the contest:
There are no entry fees; no purchases of any kind are required.
Complete a Cartoon entry form available online at
http://www.libertymuseum.org/award/doc/2009_Cartoons_form.pdf

Please submit no more than three Cartoons per person.
Print your name on each Cartoon exactly how it appears on your entry form.
If you are submitting your Cartooon(s) via email, attach your entry form and each
Cartoon in jpeg format: must be 300 dpi; no larger than 8.5 x 11.

How to submit your entry:
Cartoons may be submitted by mail, in-person, or by email.
Mail to: Cartoon Contest, National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19106,USA
In Person: Bring your Cartoon & Entry Form to the Museum. Hours are 10am-5pm, Tuesday , Sunday. You will receive FREE admission if you bring an original Cartoon.
Note: Free admission does not apply to guided group tours.

Usage rights:
Cartoons will not be returned to their creator. The Museum
reserves the right to display and/or publish any and all Cartoon entries.
The creator will be credited for the work wherever his or her Cartoon appears.
All entrants receive free membership to the National Liberty Museum
and copies of any publication in which their Cartoon appears.
